Theme for Autumn 2026
The heart of tango - The Walk, The Embrace, The Musicality.
For our Autumn term we'll be exploring how to connect our feet to the earth and our hearts to the music. Stripping away complex steps and focussing on what makes tango so Magical - The Embrace, along with transitioning weight with softness and intention, and with that breathing musicality into every step.
Weeks 1 - 2
The Embrace
Softening into the simple walk, bringing awareness to the connection with the floor, the intention we create, the awareness of how we connect with our partner, how to initiate and arrest a movement smoothly.
Weeks 3 - 4
The Walk
Finding our walk, looking a various ways we can express the music through the walk.
Weeks 5 - 6
Musicality
Finding our connection to the music and our partner, within the walk and a simple movement.
Weeks 7 - 8
Dynamics
How to accelerate and decelerate smoothly
creating contrasting dynamics within a comfortable embrace.
We'll be adding come photos from our
10th Birthday event which went with a bang!
In the meantime, we made a compilation of photos from the last 10 years of the tango room along with some vintage footage and images from the Golden age.
